About the programme 

Strong oratory skills can open many doors in life, and the foundation for assertive and empathetic Communication skills are best established in the pre-teen years. Learning the art of oratory will enable your precious ones to overcome their fear of public speaking, equipping them with wings to fly into a world of endless possibilities. 

At SoME’s Young Orators Programme, your child will discover the joys of making a speech or telling a story to an audience. They will learn the verbal and non-verbal techniques underlying public speaking, channel creativity and inspiration, and present ideas with sunny confidence. They will see the value of empathy and conversation and learn to apply these skills to influence audiences and handle social situations. 

The Young Orators Programme is the perfect start for your pre-teen to find their footing in the world and become a changemaker.

Guides for this programme:
Chitra Ramarajan
Guide

Chitra brings with her more than 16+ years of experience in training and operations management. From textile design to education, she has worked in diverse fields. She is also a trained counsellor and a life-skills trainer. As a Guide at SoME, she mentors young executives and students.

Anuja Mudur
Guide

Anuja holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor's in Education, and her work has mainly involved counselling and teaching. At SoME, she works as a Guide and tutor to teens and pre-teens while also helping out with content creation. In addition to thoroughly loving her work at SoME, she is passionate about theatre, music, and dance, and enjoys reading as well.

Simran Godhwani
Guide

Simran Godhwani left her successful corporate career 15 years ago to follow her passion for dance and is a renowned Kathak dancer. As a Guide for the Teen Prodigy and Young Orator programmes at SoME, Simran uses her immense experience as an artist to explore connections between non-verbal and verbal communications techniques, providing her learners with a well-rounded learning experience.

Where and when will these sessions take place?

These sessions will all be conducted online using video conferencing and our content is available on our learning app and online web tool. Learners will watch video content, answer quizzes and submit their project work on an online learning management system (LMS)

How many learners are in a batch session?

We have two modes for engagement: Batch and Personalized.

Our Batch sessions have a maximum of 10 learners. Individual attention is given in feedbacks and in mentoring sessions with the learner and their parents periodically.

Our Personalised session are one on one sessions with the instructor, you will get real time feedback and in class speaking time to address their specific focus areas and define the scope for their learning from a SIX C perspective.

What is the eligibility for this programme?

You need to be a pre teenagers between the ages of 9 to 12 years to join this programme. All our sessions are conducted in spoken English with the help of tools from the internet. You will need a phone or computer with an active and stable internet connection to be able to join the video sessions.

How long is the programme? Can I join in for one level?

The entire Young Orators programme (YO) is 18 sessions long divided into 3 levels of 6 sessions each. Yes, you can join in for one level, however we would recommend going through the entire programme of 18 sessions to complete the certification.

Who will be leading the sessions?

All our sessions are conducted by our certified instructors trained in the SIX C curriculum and have experience working with teenagers and pre teenagers . You can check their profiles in the guides section to know more. 

Are there personalized sessions ?

Our Personalised session are one on one sessions with the instructor, you will get real time feedback and in class speaking time to address their specific focus areas and define the scope for their learning from a SIX C perspective.
